What is a graduate web developer internship?

A Graduate Web Developer Internship is a temporary position designed for recent graduates or final-year students who have studied computer science, web development, or related fields. The internship provides hands-on experience working with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various frameworks under the supervision of experienced developers. Interns typically contribute to real projects, learn industry best practices, and develop both technical and soft skills. This role is often a stepping stone to full-time employment in the web development industry.

What does a graduate web developer intern do?

As a Graduate Web Developer Intern, you'll often assist with coding, debugging, and testing web applications under the guidance of senior developers. You can expect to participate in team meetings, contribute to collaborative projects, and learn modern frameworks and best practices. Many internships offer mentorship and exposure to both frontend and backend development, helping you build a strong foundation for a future career. This role is also a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with version control systems, project management tools, and agile workflows.

Job description

About Syenta

Syenta is pioneering a new era in semiconductor manufacturing with our groundbreaking Localised Electrochemical Manufacturing (LEM) technology. Our manufacturing products build cutting edge advanced packaging for the semiconductor industry by combining patterning and metallization into a single tool. We do that by achieving high-speed, high-resolution metallization at significantly lower costs and energy use, while minimizing emissions and waste.

Founded in Australia, our growing footprint in the US represents a key milestone in our journey. We are building a world-class team where seasoned engineers and ambitious emerging talent collaborate to solve some of the toughest challenges in semiconductor manufacturing.

About the Role

We are seeking a Graduate Process Engineer to join two of Syenta's core technical teams — LEM. You'll be working directly on the processes at the heart of Syenta's technology — running experiments, developing your technical understanding, and contributing ideas that genuinely shape how we work.

From day one you'll have real responsibility alongside deliberate mentorship from senior experts who are invested in your development. We're looking for someone who is hungry to learn, takes ownership of their work, and wants to build a long-term career at a company redefining how semiconductors are made.

Responsibilities Process & Experimentation
  • Contribute to the development across Syenta’s LEM process and stamp pre-plating process through hands‑on laboratory work, experimental runs, and active participation in team discussions.
  • Execute parameter sweeps, design of experiments (DOE) runs, and repeatability tests, growing into increasing ownership of experimental design over time.
  • Prepare substrates, consumables, and materials; operate prototype equipment with guidance; and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to intellectual property generation by documenting novel processes, observations, and ideas as they emerge.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment, always following lab safety procedures.
Data & Analysis
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of all laboratory work to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Assist with data analysis, plotting, and summary reporting.
  • Identify anomalies and unexpected results and work collaboratively with the team to investigate and understand them.
Communication & Collaboration
  • Work alongside the broader team to achieve technical milestones and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Share progress updates with the LEM team and actively contribute to group discussions on results and next steps.
  • Support preparation and delivery of demonstrations of Syenta's LEM technology to visitors, partners, and investors.
Ownership & Impact
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and deliverables, seeing them through to completion.
  • Proactively identify improvements to performance or workflows and speak up about them.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (completed or nearing completion) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands‑on laboratory or technical experience through internships, undergraduate research, co‑op programs, capstone projects, or relevant personal projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a methodical approach to laboratory work and a commitment to maintaining clear and accurate records.
  • A fast learner who goes deep - building real understanding, not just surface familiarity.
  • A track record of building and doing - someone who remembers their projects in detail because they were truly in them.
  • Analytical problem solver when the path forward isn't obvious - breaking problems down and making progress rather than waiting for clarity to arrive.
  • Confident enough to contribute ideas around senior team members and grounded enough to learn from them.
  • A genuine interest in growing with a fast‑paced, innovative company and contributing to the development of transformative technology.
Desirable:
  • Exposure to semiconductor, MEMS, electrochemistry, PCB, or advanced materials processes.
  • Familiarity with metrology tools such as optical microscopy, SEM, AFM, or conductivity measurements.
Why Choose Syenta?

We’re building a team that takes ownership, moves fast, and solves meaningful technical challenges. At Syenta, you’ll play a central role in shaping a breakthrough manufacturing technology and see your work translate directly into real-world impact.

What We Offer Salary Range: US $75k – $100k (negotiable)
  • Early‑stage equity opportunities.
  • Potential 401(k) and other benefits.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage plans, supported by Company.
  • Professional Growth – We’re scaling fast, so responsibilities can expand significantly. in tandem with the business.
  • Team Events – Annual company event in Australia to collaborate and celebrate.
  • Work‑Life Balance – An understanding that meaningful work can coexist with a fulfilling personal life.
  • 15 days PTO and 10 days sick leave.
