Salary:

Position Overview: The Wealth Architect is primarily responsible for the ongoing management and retention of existing client relationships. This position also serves as a coach to develop the Associate Wealth Architects. This role will work in conjunction with our Chief Wealth Architect, fellow Wealth Architects, Associate Wealth Architects (AWAs) or other internal and external technical specialists to service and develop advice for clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee Associate Wealth Architects on the following:
    • Review Daily Transaction Summary (ensure money movements, asset transfers, rebalances, etc. execute according to instructions).
    • Review Quarterly Reports (ensure proper titling, benchmarks, billing).
    • Communicate with Client Services on Account Administration (New Client Paperwork, Money movements).
    • Communicate with Investments on Investment Policy Statements, Trades, Rebalancing, etc.
    • Train and develop the professional and personal growth of AWAs in their own pursuit of becoming a Wealth Architect.
  • Review and ensure completion of:
    • Balance sheets.
    • Family goals and priorities.
    • Family strategic plans.
    • Financial Plans.
    • Account maps.
    • Estate disposition maps.
    • Cash flow matrix.
    • Cash flow analysis (income, expenses, etc.)
    • Since Inception Portfolio Results Reports
  • Develop and deepen client relationships.
    • Client relationship development and management, including ongoing and regular client contact and communications.
  • Develop and deepen Advisor relationships (both internally, i.e. Advisor Team, and externally, i.e., CPAs, attorneys, etc.).
  • Execute and ensure execution of day-to-day management of client relationships across Advisor Team and Organization.
  • Provide objective, unbiased financial advice to a diverse mix of clients by analyzing wealth planning needs (including Investment Management, Asset & Income Protection, Liability Management, Estate & Philanthropic Planning, Tax Planning, Assisting Children and Parents), as well as investment planning and general client financial needs.
  • Client meeting preparation: review all required paperwork prior to meetings; meeting flight checklist review and completion.
  • Execute and ensure execution Client Review and Planning follow up.
  • Client service, including planning updates, portfolio changes and reviews, returns and new opportunity identification.
  • Client asset management, including coordination of complete financial planning and wealth management (analysis, estate planning, tax strategies for assets under management and portfolio management). Develop and communicate Custom Planning and Investment Allocations with Investments Department to ensure proper execution of Investment Policy Statements, review and approve investment implementations and rebalancing (i.e. trades, policy changes, etc.).
  • Take a holistic approach to utilize firm services and resources to deepen existing client relationships.
  • Initiate and field client calls on various planning items, miscellaneous requests and advice on various topics; acknowledge client emails, voicemails within 24 hours.
  • Ensure client records are properly maintained (Worldox, CRM, Advisor View, etc.).
  • Conduct Financial Model Drafting (i.e. Financeware, Social Security Analyzer, etc.).
  • Oversee Investment Policy Statement review and completion.
  • Ensure execution of client document requests.
  • Interact with other professional advisors to facilitate client planning work.
  • Wealth Management and Financial Planning Agreements review, complete, update and oversee execution.
  • Review Quarterly Reports, ensure accurate reporting and proper billing
  • Understand and foster Fiduciary Duty, Compliance Manual and Business Continuity Plan understanding.
  • Be a steward of our planning and investment philosophy and process (internally and externally).
  • Be a steward of the Firm Vision, Mission and Core Values.
  • Participate and contribute to Wealth Planning, Investments, Business Development, and Team Strategic Goals committees.
  • Maintains licenses and credentials and is committed to continuing education, including financial standards and industry best practices.
  • Assists and participates in the firm meeting overall business development goals.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferably in business, accounting, finance, economics or related experience.
  • Graduate degree or Professional Designation Required: CFP, CFA, EA, JD, Masters, or PhD.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in the financial-services industry (preferably with an independent registered advisory firm).
  • 5+ years of experience advising clients.
  • Series 65 license (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; experience with CRM, document management, and portfolio management software (preferred); familiarity with custodial platforms such as Schwab, Fidelity and TD Ameritrade is a plus.
