Job description

Berwick Academy is looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our dynamic Extended Day Program team for the 2026-2027 school year. Whether supporting our Lower or Middle School programs, you’ll help create a nurturing, flexible structure that encourages imaginative play, enriching activities, and well-earned downtime to recharge after a busy school day.

Be part of a mission-driven school that values academic excellence and joyful learning, engage with a vibrant community of students, parents, and educators, and create memorable experiences for kids through imaginative play, arts and crafts, games, and more.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and interacting with Pre-K to Fourth Grade students (Lower School) or Fifth through Eighth Grade students (Middle School) during after-school hours (3:00 PM - 5:15 PM). NOTE: This role also includes a 2:30 start time to allow for planning and prep.
  • Planning and delivering engaging activities like arts and crafts, outdoor play, and themed projects that explore seasons, cultures, and more.
  • Providing homework help and assisting students as they transition to activities such as music lessons, tutoring, or dance classes.
  • Partnering with families by maintaining approachable and supportive communication.
  • Overseeing and mentoring Upper School student assistants, fostering their leadership skills.
