Work closely with the Director of Annual Giving and other development staff to identify, organize and segment within the UGA donor database, various donor audiences for long-term engagement and solicitation.

Position Summary
This student position, serving the Development Office at the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach (OVPPSO), provides the opportunity to participate in many functions of the office. This position is for an individual who has an interest in fundraising and development, marketing/pr, and public service and higher education administration.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position
Planning a career involving marketing and/or fundraising for business, higher education, government, not-for-profit entities, or public service.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Students in the PSO-OVP will work closely with the Director of Annual Giving, development staff, administrative support staff, and communications professionals to manage data for solicitation efforts, coordinate segmented annual solicitations, and draft donor messaging for appeals and initiatives. The candidate will need:
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage projects simultaneously
  • Training and proficiency in UGA's donor database CRM (GAIL)
  • Data gathering, analysis and presentation skills
  • Experience writing and designing solicitation materials
  • Effective communication in writing, speaking, and listening
  • Familiarity using electronic mail, telephone, face-to-face discussions, paper form correspondence
