Job description

Position Description:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Lead Software Engineer/Cloud Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess an active TS/SCI clearance and be available to work onsite at the Specified Space Force Base. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud-based solutions built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Job Schedule: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off

Key Responsibilities:

• Leverage substantive experience in cloud development in AWS to build robust cloud-based applications.

• Ensure that the applications are scalable, secure, and cost-effective by utilizing the best practices and services provided by AWS.

• Engage in daily interactions with customers to understand their requirements and provide suitable cloud-based solutions.

• Prepare comprehensive architectural designs that align with the strategic goals of the organization.

• Develop roadmaps to guide the implementation and evolution of cloud solutions over time.

• Produce detailed documentation to support the design, development, and deployment processes, ensuring clarity and reproducibility.

• Deliver professional presentations to stakeholders, articulating complex technical concepts in an accessible manner.

• Adapt to support various mission areas, demonstrating flexibility and a strong commitment to achieving mission success.

Required Education and Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience.

• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.

• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Active TS/SCI clearance Required.

Security+ or equivalent DoD IAT Level II Certification required, or ability to obtain within 80 days of hire.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • On-site/field experience.
  • Experience with IATT and ATO certification process.
  • Experience with automating deployments and configuration of EC2 instances.
  • Familiarity with the C2S Access Portal (CAP) and high-side AWS environments.
  • Experience with configuration of Gitlab pipelines for automated deployment of cloud resources.
  • Proficiency in designing, developing, configurating, and deploying cloud-based applications using AWS services.
  • A collaborative team player with experience working in a dynamic team environment.
