We're currently looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Calgary studio. Are you a designer with demonstrated creativity, a collaborative spirit, and a thirst for excellence while striving to make a positive difference in the world. Our structural engineers don't just focus on the design of framing elements, they are involved with the entire building, working as part of a collective team to develop building designs that respond to the needs of their occupants and the surrounding community. 
How you'll make a difference:
  • Actas a design engineer on a variety of building projects of various sizes andcomplexity. 

  • Follow through all phases of projects from concept designthrough construction. 

  • Workclosely with our integrated team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as other partner firms. 

  • Drive high technical quality in the delivery of design, model/drawing development, and through field review during the construction phase. 

  • Work with DIALOG's robust Specifiers to develop construction specifications. 

  • Mentor and nurture less experienced engineers and designers to grow their capabilities. 

  • Buildrelationshipsof trust with clients and other outside groups. 

  • Manage projects while working under the supervision of senior engineers, and participate in project planning. 

  • Provide on-site field review during construction to confirm general conformance with the design documents. 

  • Review shop drawings, respond to requests for information, and provide contract administration support for your projects. 

Who you are:
  • Bachelor'sDegreeinStructural Engineeringis required; a post-graduate degree is preferred. 

  • 5-10 years of related industry experience and registration as aP.Eng. 

  • You have the ability to obtain Government of Canada Security Clearance. 

  • Located in, or willing to relocate to, Calgary. 

  • Proficiency with Revit., ETABS, SAP200, SAFE, and other structural analysis software. 

  • An articulate and persuasive communicator that can convey complex technical concepts to non-technical firm leaders, staff and clients. 

  • Energetic, engaged, and demonstrates initiative. 

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and multiple tasks/projects. 

  • LEED, Green Globes, ENV SP (or other similar sustainability) certification is considered an asset.
