Job Title: Survey CAD Technician
***Work Location: Atlanta, GA ***
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
Accura Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Survey CAD Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying and CAD design, along with proficiency in survey software and tools.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Process daily field survey data using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD to create high-quality survey drawings.
  • Develop 3D digital terrain models from field data for engineering design using InRoads/OpenRoads or similar software.
  • Draft and design for various land surveying projects while adhering to CAD standards, including compliance with GDOT requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with a team of designers and project managers to deliver accurate and efficient results.
  • Ensure field crews collect the necessary data by maintaining strong communication and coordination.
  • Prepare and compile detailed information for plans, as-builts, and final plats.
  • Revise and refine plats and drawings based on feedback and red-line comments from supervisors.
  • Assist in preparing preliminary layouts, specifications, and documentation for survey projects.
  • Conduct basic surveys, such as closings, foundations, and elevation certificates.
  • Occasionally assist in the field to verify drawings against actual conditions and advance toward professional certification.
  • Maintain accuracy by checking calculations, plats, and worksheets to ensure all deliverables meet project standards.
  • Support office staff, clients, and cross-department teams as required to complete projects successfully.
  • Develop technical skills while fostering team growth by sharing knowledge and expertise.
Education/Experience:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 5+ years of CAD and survey software experience
  • 5+ years of land surveying experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of field and office surveying experience, with hands-on expertise in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with GDOT standards and processes
  • Experience with survey software and equipment is essential.
  • At least 1 year of experience using MicroStation software (preferred).
  • Knowledge of technical drafting, with an Associate Degree in Technical Drafting or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with the Survey Team - Project Managers, Survey Crews, Professional Land Surveyors (PLS), etc
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other business software.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
