POSITION SUMMARY:ย 

The Womenโ€™s Basketball Graduate Assistant supports the daily operations within the womenโ€™s basketball program while pursuing a graduate degree. This position assists the coaching staff in areas including practice preparation, player development, game operations, recruiting, and administrative task.ย 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in planning and organizing daily practices, including setting up drills, equipment, and practice schedules.
  • Participate in on-court instruction, demonstrating drills.ย 
  • Support individual player development through skill workouts.
  • Assist with scouting reports by analyzing opponents film
  • Track in game stats.ย 
  • Break down game and practice film.
  • Assist with recruiting including official and unofficial visits
  • Coordinate team travel and mealsย 
  • Monitor student-athletes academic progress and coordinate with academic support
  • Help with on campus housing.ย

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mobility and ability to lift equipment or other items of 50 pounds.
  • Hearing well enough to communicate with students and co-workers.
  • Visual ability to drive, read, and use a computer.
  • Cognitive/Emotional ย ability to think critically and concentrate.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • The position is a part-time position in Athletics.ย  The Graduate Assistant for womenโ€™s basketball will report directly to the Head coach.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • The Graduate Assistant for Womenโ€™s Basketball is required to maintain normal office hours, attend all practices and games, as well as attend required meetings.

TRAVEL:

  • Travel is required for all away games and recruiting events.
