Posting Summary
The Program in Data Science, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, School of Arts and Sciences-Newark, Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), is seeking part-time instructors (Lecturer/Coadjutant) for the Fall 2025 semester to teach data science courses. The successful candidate will have an interest in teaching ethical issues in data science and machine learning. The successful candidate will cover the full range of duties associated with teaching, including, but not limited to, preparing course material; creating and posting a course syllabus; presenting material during the assigned course times; holding office hours and providing appropriate out-of-class time for students; responding to student e-mails; conducting and grading assessments of students through assignments, exams, and other means, in a timely manner; and submitting final grades. Course appointments may require instruction during the day, in the evenings, on weekends, off-campus, online, hybrid, remotely, or any combination of these, based on the academic needs of the department.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Master's degree in data science, economics, philosophy, psychology, or other data-driven fields required. Ph.D. strongly preferred.
Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience teaching data wrangling and analysis methods preferred. Interest in teaching classes on ethical issues in data science and machine learning a must. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must.
