Graduate Practical Nurse (GPN)

Rate: $27/hour until licensed

Taconic Nursing and Rehabilitation at Ulster is looking to add a Graduate Practical Nurse (GPN) to its nursing team. In this role, you'll work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate nursing care and support to residents while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a skilled nursing environment. If you're a recent practical nursing graduate who is passionate about resident care and professional growth, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including medication administration and treatments
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and updating resident care plans
  • Monitor resident conditions and promptly report changes to the supervising nurse
  • Provide personal care assistance, including hygiene, mobility, and feeding support as needed
  • Accurately document resident care, treatments, and observations
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and resident-centered environment
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to support quality resident care
  • Follow facility policies, healthcare regulations, infection control practices, and safety procedures
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing education opportunities

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Graduate Practical Nurse eligible for licensure in New York State
