Job description

Overview

The MITS Senior Engineer will be responsible for supporting multiple small to mid-sized clients with their IT projects, performing assessments, presenting findings and recommendations, and installing and configuring hardware and our products and services. You will work as a member of the branch Engineering team and with the Specialists to keep and attract new business and provide mentoring to less tenured Engineers. You will be a trusted advisor to the branch, Specialists, and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, support and troubleshoot advanced and complex network infrastructure and server environments (physical/virtual/cloud)
  • Draft complex project Statement of Work (SoW), work with Specialists to complete and present to client for feedback
  • Execute projects based on detailed SoW (Statement of Work) documentation created by yourself and/or other team members.
  • Coordinate and leverage multiple resources on complex project SoWs.
  • Complete onsite assessments both independently and as a team
  • Create findings and recommendations based on completed assessments, discuss with Specialist and present/discuss with client
  • Onboard/offboard users, servers and workstations for MITS products and services.
  • Gather data and work with Specialist on Business Reviews recommendations
  • Manage projects from start to finish.
  • Team coordination of larger and complex client projects.
  • Client project budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to provide a complete solution; troubleshoot complex vendor-specific problems; or to coordinate migrations.
  • Mentoring less tenured Engineers
  • Create and maintain client documentation to ensure efficiency and consistency.
  • Good organization, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Interact with clients, internal staff, consultants, and vendors and communicate effectively and concisely.
  • Obtain and maintain IT certifications required by company.
  • Enter time sheets daily for all work performed.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Undergrad or graduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on technical experience managing/supporting multi-server and complex network infrastructure environments.
  • Hands-on virtualization (Hyper-V and/or VMWare) and Azure experience a plus.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructure - firewalls, switches and access points.
  • Must be Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 certified and have industry firewall certification (Sonicwall, Meraki, Watchguard) or be willing to acquire certification as part of the employment agreement. Additional certifications a plus.
  • Experience and certifications in Cyber Security or be willing to acquire certification as part of the employment agreement.
  • Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Azure and Office 365 technologies preferred.
  • Managed Service Provider and/or Managed Security Service Provider experience a plus.
  • BDR (Backup Disaster and Recovery) experience a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detailed oriented ability to track and thoroughly communicate on multiple ongoing projects for multiple clients.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as participate as part of a group managing other resources on larger projects.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidate must be comfortable actively communicating with all levels within an organization under both relaxed and stressful situations
  • 75% local-day travel / 20% remote work / 5% overnight travel.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to provide own reliable transportation.

The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
