WGI is looking for an engineering professional with 0-4 years of experience to work with our Civil team in Austin, TX. 

This individual will be responsible for project production tasks and assisting the public works team consisting of Project Manager, Project Engineers, other Graduate Engineers, and Project Designers in the preparation and coordination of civil engineering public infrastructure projects.

  • Assist or lead in production of construction plans, specifications, and developing cost estimates for new and existing public infrastructure projects in the Austin area and across Texas
  • Apply AutoCAD and/or Microstation software in drafting design plans for public works (utilities, roadway, and drainage/stormwater infrastructure).
  • Conduct field visits to understand existing site conditions and evaluate the scope of work to be designed and ultimately constructed.
  • Prepare permitting application packages in coordinating with governing agencies and department.
  • Prepare engineering reports, construction specifications, and bid documents
  • Attend meetings with team members in coordination with client team members.
  • Address review comments received and prepare plan updates in AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.
  • Perform site visits following the completion of design and bidding to observe construction and prepare construction observation reports
  • Attend industry events for networking and relationship building and become involved in the engineering community and related professional organizations.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • 0-4 years’ experience in public infrastructure projects with a focus on design production and construction document preparation.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) license obtained or scheduled to sit for exam within 6 months of employment.
  • AutoCAD and/or Microstation design experience is strongly preferred
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visa
