We are hiring for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis at our Pittston, PA office.
  • Assist Engineers with the execution of multiple concurrent geotechnical projects.
  • Work with internal clients (Staff Engineers, Geologists, Designers, etc.) while also coordinating efforts with external customers (clients, drilling subcontractors, etc.) to ensure effective workflow.
  • Work with Field staff as well as coordinating with clients & contractors during construction.
  • Perform construction observation and materials testing
  • Perform geotechnical field explorations (test borings, test pits, infiltration testing, etc.)
  • Assist with / perform geotechnical engineering investigations; this involves preparing reports and developing recommendations.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably a BS in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering).

This person will be expected to work in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver's License as well as Reliable Transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FE / EIT or obtain their EIT within a year of their hire.
  • Basic Geotechnical Engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics, bearing capacity, settlement
  • Professional experience working on construction projects; ideally, this person is capable of coordinating and overseeing field-based construction inspection operations.
  • Experience with observing and documenting construction activities (e.g.: concrete placement, deep & shallow foundation construction, earthwork, infiltration testing, basic survey & layout activity, test pits, test borings, etc.).
  • Proficiency on standard office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365 (including Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Familiarity with engineering tools (e.g.: geotechnical engineering software, CADD, etc.); exposure to AutoCAD and/or gINT is a plus!
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision while displaying a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills: this person will be expected to multi-task / prioritize multiple assignments effectively in order to proactively balance their workload while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
