Job description

Responsible to assure the flow of communication through the department in the absence of supervisory staff.  Maintains cleanliness of hospital facilities following hospital, departmental, and regulatory agency requirements.  Responsible for providing a safe, sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 
 
  1. Communicates with co-workers in the absence of immediate supervisor.  Coordinates pre-scheduled assignments and work flow with on duty / on call supervisor and co-workers.
  2. Answers, dispatches and documents pager and discharge requests to appropriate Environmental Service staff.
  3. Distributes and collects assignment sheets, pagers and keys.
  4. Communicates inventory needs to the immediate supervisor.
  5. Maintains registers, logs, and other documentation related to the work.
  6. Performs essential responsibilities of Environmental Service Technician I or Technician II as appropriate.
  7. Performs other related responsibilities as necessary, which may be or have been assigned by departmental supervisor.
Required:
  • High school graduate or equivalent. 
  • One year housekeeping experience. 

Preferred:

  • Coursework in team leadership.
  • Team leader experience.
