Position Summary:

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for Graduate Nursing Adjuncts to support the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Adjuncts are part-time instructional professionals who contribute specialized expertise in advanced nursing practice and support the academic preparation of graduate nursing students.

Graduate adjuncts may teach didactic, clinical, laboratory, or online courses and collaborate with course coordinators and program leadership to ensure alignment with program outcomes, accreditation standards, and evidence-based nursing practice. Responsibilities include facilitating student learning, evaluating student performance, maintaining course materials within the university's learning management system, and providing guidance and mentorship to graduate nursing students.

Adjuncts are expected to support the College's caring-based philosophy and integrate clinical expertise, scholarship, and professional experience into the educational environment. The College is internationally recognized for its commitment to caring science-expanding the science of caring, practicing the art of nursing, studying its meaning, and living it in academic and clinical practice.

Adjunct appointments are part-time and assigned per course, per semester, based on program needs and enrollment.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate graduate nursing students in advanced practice clinical settings

  • Teach graduate nursing courses in classroom, online, simulation, or clinical environments

  • Collaborate with course coordinators and faculty to ensure consistency in course delivery and student learning outcomes

  • Evaluate student assignments, clinical performance, and competencies

  • Maintain accurate course records, grades, and student evaluations

  • Participate in adjunct orientation and comply with university and college policies

  • Provide mentorship and professional guidance to students preparing for advanced nursing roles

Minimum Qualifications:

oMSN degree/post-graduate certificate in an area of advanced practice specialty and three years of experience working as an advanced practice nurse in area of specialty (Clinical adjunct positions only)
oNational certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or specialty certification where appropriate
oCurrent, unencumbered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida (or eligibility for licensure)
