Job description

Ragged Ridge is looking for a CNC Programmer. Experience with Mastercam is a plus. 5 Axis programming is a plus.

We are looking to either hire a 5 axis programmer or hire someone with less programming experience and train them to program multiaxis parts.

Duties

  • Develop and write CNC programs using G-code and M-code for various machining centers.
  • Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to generate precise tool paths
  • Utilize CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to create efficient machining strategies
  • Oversee 5 axis operators and help with setups.
  • Conduct quality inspections.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues by adjusting programs or machine parameters for optimal performance
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience in CNC programming with a strong understanding of CNC G-code programming and M-code commands
  • Skilled in CAM programming to develop efficient tool paths for complex parts
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately
  • Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and feed rates during programming and setup
  • Knowledge of tooling selection, setup procedures, and fixture installation to ensure high-quality production runs
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, welders, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment safely when needed
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency
  • Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with attention to detail for precision manufacturing tasks
