Graduate Site Reliability Engineer
Our Team
We are growing our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to help move LSEG beyond traditional support and operations toward modern, automated, and reliable engineering practices.
As a Graduate Site Reliability Engineer, you will join a diverse, inclusive, and supportive team that plays a key role in maintaining the availability, performance, and scalability of some of LSEG's most critical shared services. This role is designed for graduates who are curious, motivated, and eager to learn how large-scale systems are built and operated.
You will receive hands-on experience, mentoring, and structured learning, helping you build strong foundations in reliability engineering, cloud platforms, and observability.
What You'll Do
We are looking for graduates with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
  • Learn to support and maintain reliability and performance of systems using agreed Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • Assist in building and improving automation to help scale systems and reduce manual effort.
  • Work closely with software engineers to improve system reliability, monitoring, and deployment processes.
  • Support incident response, post-incident reviews, and root cause analysis, with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Help improve observability, including dashboards, alerts, logging, and metrics.
  • Contribute to cloud migration and modernisation initiatives, supporting architectural reviews and operational testing.
  • Participate in on-call rotations once trained and supported, with clear escalation paths.
  • Be part of a strong learning culture, developing skills in cloud, DevOps, and reliability engineering practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or recent graduate) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Foundational knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, C#, Python, or Go.
  • Basic understanding of Linux or Windows operating systems.
  • Awareness of cloud concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP) through coursework, labs, or internships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • Internship, project, or academic experience related to DevOps, SRE, or cloud computing.
  • Exposure to monitoring or observability tools (metrics, logs, dashboards).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts.
  • Understanding of networking, security fundamentals, or Linux internals.
We use Datadog and BigPanda for observability, Terraform for infrastructure, and Entra ID for identity-but full training is provided.
