You will be working in the Infrastructure OU in where our Infrastructure team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.

Skanska Technology Limited (STL) is an expanding in-house engineering design consultancy supporting projects across the water, heavy industrial, power and design and build sectors. Based in our Bridgend office, you'll join a flexible team and work across multiple sectors to support exciting projects.

We are currently looking for a Senior Civil Engineer - Design who will be responsible for the management and technical delivery of a portfolio of small projects or of a larger project, reporting to a Senior Project Engineer.


As the Senior Civil Engineer - Design, you will:

  • Plan for effective project implementation.
  • Manage the planning and organisation of tasks, people and resources to deliver successful projects to agreed time and cost expectations.
  • Prepare and control project budgets and have sound knowledge of commercial frameworks.
  • Technical training/mentoring of Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Technicians and brief and coordinate the work of others to ensure the timely and technically robust delivery of project scope. 
  • Working collaboratively with clients, contractors and the supply chain to understand and develop project objectives.


We are looking for:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or suitable alternative qualification. 
  • Good working knowledge, understanding and experience of the applicable Eurocodes, UK Industry Codes of Practice and ability to mentor and manage others.
  • Willingness to work in other UK offices, sites and clients' facilities for short term assignments by agreement.
  • UK/EEC driving licence.
  • Technical design experience on multi-disciplinary projects.
