Dillonโ€™s Land Development team is looking for a Civil Engineering Graduate to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

What your day will look like

Coordination and Design

  • Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of land development projects related to mixed use, community infrastructure initiatives, and low-rise residential communities specifically learning and completing earthwork analysis, road and parking lot design, site grading and servicing, sewer design and analysis, and watermain design
  • Assist project managers, engineers, environmental scientists and others on a variety of multidisciplinary design teams (including project engineers, planners, biologists, technologists, etc.)  
  • Complete design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion
  • Assist with design tasks including report preparation, hydraulic sewer modeling, watermain calculations, functional servicing report preparation, stormwater and sanitary management calculations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
  • Business travel upon request

Learning and Development

  • Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
  • Contribute to Dillonโ€™s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

What you will need to succeed

  • A degree in civil engineering
  • Registered as an engineer-in-training, or be working towards your P.Eng
  • Zero to three years' professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry

  • Knowledge of the functional and detailed design of land development including roads, sewers and watermains
  • Understand a range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration
  • Working knowledge of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D software will be considered an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with local regulations, policies, guidelines, and provincial and municipal permit requirements for environmental agencies
  • Familiarity with both construction inspection and contract administration would be considered an asset

Compensation:

$75,000 - $85,000

Dillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicantโ€™s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicantโ€™s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
