Hatch is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Trainee. Reporting to Highways & Bridges group you will support offices globally working from our Thunder Bay, ON office location.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Student will be assisting with work on challenging assignments and projects.  
  • The student will be working on large and medium size project in the infrastructure industry. 

You bring to the role:

  • Graduated or currently graduating from a Civil Engineering program at an accredited University.
  • Familiarity with CAD/Design software applications such as MathCAD, Excel, MicroStation, InRoads, EPA SWMM, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D will be considered an asset.  
  • In addition to demonstrating strong academic performance, the ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, understand innovation, will be self-motivated, quick to deliver and a team player. They will also have a high regard for job safety and quality work. 
  • Candidates will also be analytical problem solvers with excellent computer skills. 
  • The position will allow candidates to directly apply and develop their knowledge in design of linear infrastructure for both front end planning studies and the detailed engineering phase for multidiscipline projects. 
  • The student will be assigned to work closely with experienced designers and engineers who will provide guidance and mentoring.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites as needed.

Compensation:

Range: $73,000 - $77,000

At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
