In the role of Civil/Highway Engineering Co-op, we'll count on you to:

  • Work as a member of a design team on multiple projects serving clients such as NYCDEP, NYCDDC, NYC Dept. of Parks & Recreation, MTA-New York City Transit, NYCDOT, PANYNJ and NYSDOT

  • The position includes preparation of plans, detail drawing/calculation checks, and estimate and quantity take-offs for projects of various sizes and complexities

  • The candidate will need to be a self-motivated individual who utilizes the highest level of professionalism while performing engineering assignments

  • The candidate will also perform other duties as needed

  •  The position is expected to be in-person full time at the New York, NY office

  •  The Civil/Highway department engages in several areas of design including Highway & Local Roadway design, Green Infrastructure/Stormwater management, Drainage & Grading, Utility/Facility upgrades, Feasibility studies, Transit flood mitigation and resiliency, and recreation/waterfront development

  • This position is for January-June 2027.

  • Length of Co-op is flexible from 4 to 6 months.
     

Preferred Qualifications 
  • Previous AE internship experience is preferred
  • Preference is given to local candidates

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Microstation

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
