Job Title: HS Sports Track & Field Head Coach
Reports To: Secondary Principal & Athletic Director
Job Overview: Crosspoint Christian Schools is seeking a highly dynamic High School Track & Field Head Coach to lead and develop a competitive, Christ-centered athletic program. The Head Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, organization, and management of the program, including student-athlete development, supervision of assistant coaches, and program culture.
As a member of the Gateway OneTeam, you will support and demonstrate an understanding of the church's mission: Presenting Hope and Developing People. Possessing a character that reflects biblical godliness, demonstrating a meaningful personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and active involvement in a local body of Christian believers are key qualifications.
Please note: This at-will position may be held in addition to a teaching or other assignment. Compensation is stipend-based and may vary depending on participation numbers.
Job Status: 2-4 months/season
Exempt Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $3,200/season
Benefits: Sick only
Start Date: March 1, 2027
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Plans, organizes, and leads all aspects of the high school program
  • Designs and implements practice plans (typically 4-6 times per week, ~90-120 minutes)
  • Oversees team tryouts, player evaluation, and team selection
  • Develops and implements systems for skill development, team strategy, and competitive success
  • Supervises, mentors, and evaluates assistant and volunteer coaches
  • Coordinates with the Athletic Director regarding scheduling, facilities, transportation, budgeting, and program needs
  • Communicates clearly and consistently with players, parents/guardians, and school administration
  • Promotes and maintains a positive team culture emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and sportsmanship
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of all student-athletes; oversees injury protocols and team records
  • Ensures full compliance with Crosspoint Christian School policies and athletic department expectations
  • Oversees inventory, care, and ordering of equipment and uniforms
  • Represents the school and program with professionalism in all settings
  • Models a Christ-centered lifestyle and provides spiritual leadership to student-athletes

Requirements
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor high school-aged student-athletes
  • Preferred minimum age: 25 (flexible based on experience)
  • Ability to transport team members to games, if needed
  • Must complete a driving abstract and be approved by the CCS Transportation Department
  • Must meet WIAA compliance requirements (see following)

WIAA Compliance Requirements
  • Be employed by Crosspoint Christian Schools.
  • Be a high school graduate or have completed a graduation equivalency diploma (GED) program.
  • Annually complete the WIAA general rules clinic and the WIAA-approved rule clinic for the sport being coached.
  • Hold a valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Successfully complete Concussion Recognition and Management with Return to Play Protocols Training (valid for three [3] years).
  • Successfully complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training (valid for three [3] years).
  • Successfully complete the WIAA-approved Coaching Principles course (within first three [3] years), with recertification every three (3) years thereafter.
