Job description

Graduate Assistant - Pre-Med and Health Professions Programs
The GraduateAssistant for the Pre-Medical and Health Professions Programs (PMHPP) is anintegral member of a small but dynamic team that assists undergraduate and sometimesgraduate students in their preparations to pursue advanced graduate study inmedicine, dental medicine, and other health professions. In general, the PMHPP Graduate Assistant willbe expected to assist with basic instruction/monitoring of student developmentof pre-medical and health professional clinical skills and class preparation. Whilethe Graduate Assistant will work closely with all members of the PMHPP team, he/shewill report primarily to the PMHPP Clinical Coordinator, and when appropriate,will report to the Director, or the Office Manager.
BasicInstruction/Monitoring of Clinical Skills Responsibilities
1. Assist the PMHPP course instructor in the preparation of materials and supplies for the PMHPP undergraduate and post-baccalaureate (as needed) courses in advance of each class session,
2. Promptly arrive at least 15-20 minutes before each scheduled class meeting to assist with class set-up requirements and attendance monitoring and remain after each class meeting to assist with equipment cleaning and storage,
3. Consistently maintain the cleanliness, functionality, and accessibility of all equipment used in laboratories consistent with PMHPP and WHO policy,
4. Understand and be able to operate correctly all laboratory equipment used in PMHPP courses,
5. Assist the course instructor in the monitoring of skills and student behaviors in the classroom during designated PMHP course clinical skills laboratories,
6. Oversee the completion of work and skills of students who miss class and who are required to make up required activities/skills,
7. Assist the course instructor with the production of teaching aids and handouts for the courses.
ClassPreparation/Other Responsibilities
Assist in:
1. Complete various tasks for class preparation such as copying, making flashcards, etc.
2. Work collaboratively with the office staff and student work study student
3. Perform other various task and special projects as assigned
4. Attend all PMHPP events for Post-Bacc students, and serve as ambassador/organizer for cohort events
Fall 2026 Anticipated Hours:
Monday(7:40-9:40) - 2 hrs - Class and Lab Prep
Tuesday(2:45-3:45) - 2 hours - Class attendance and prep
Wednesday(7:40-9:40) - 2 hrs - Class and Lab Prep
Friday (7:40-9:40) - 2 hrs - Class and LabPrep
+ 2 hours of flex time to assist with prep,skill practice, or other teaching functions
