Job Description

The Parking & Transportation Department is seeking students interested in employment in a Parking Enforcement position on campus.

Responsibilities

• Enforce parking regulations and issue warnings and citations;

• Assist with general campus questions from students, staff, and visitors;

• Assist motorists with basic vehicle issues (battery jump, locked out of vehicle, etc.);

• Monitor bike racks and issue warnings when necessary; and

• Work large events including football games.

Required Qualifications

• Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno

• Candidate must have excellent customer service and communication skills

A valid Class "C" driver's license or higher operator's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The successful candidates must complete the Defensive Driving course shortly after hire.

Driving carts on busy campus roads along with pedestrians is required for this position.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Walking or standing to a significant degree

• Pushing and/or pulling

• Exerting 25 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures when working outside

Schedule

• Hours: Monday - Thursday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm

• During Semester: Up to 25 hours a week

• During Breaks: Up to 40 hours a week
