Position Summary:
Clark Bros., Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent for our Renewable Energy Division. It is crucial to have experience and the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, enthusiastic, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. As a superintendent, you will be responsible for providing coordination, planning, and supervision to assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a particular area of discipline.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate grading and civil work projects within the scope of the renewable energy project
  • Ensure the high-quality execution of civil portions of the project, including but not limited to mass grading, fine grading, excavation, trenching, and backfill operations
  • Provide drawing, constructability, and submittal reviews and feedback with the engineering team, verifying that the quality of materials, equipment, and workmanship conforms to specifications and contract documents
  • Coordinate with the Construction Manager in crew and equipment sizing, haul routes, compaction requirements, and site utilization plans
  • Work with the Construction Manager in the development of project schedules and updates, and the creation of 3-week look-aheads
  • Supervise and ensure quality control of grading and civil work, including both self-performed and subcontracted operations
  • Oversee site preparation activities such as erosion control, stormwater management, access roads, and foundations support areas
  • Attend and participate in project meetings, and provide liaison between field engineers and contractors or craft workers to ensure civil components of the project comply with drawings and specifications

Qualifications and Expectations:
  • Experience reading and interpreting civil drawings, grading plans, and construction documents
  • 5 or more years of construction experience with a successful track record working on large-scale grading or civil infrastructure projects, preferably in renewable energy or utility-scale work
  • 2 or more years in a supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations related to earthwork, heavy equipment operations, and trenching activities
  • Completion of OSHA 30 preferred, but not required
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be willing and able to travel and be at the project site and act as an onsite Superintendent.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000
