Job description
Fisher College, a private four-year institution located in the Back Bay area of Boston, is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach 01 section of Physics for the Life Sciences: Mechanics including a lab for the Fall 2026 semester. The course will run from August 31, 2026, through December 18, 2026. Instruction will be conducted in person during daytime hours The class times are Mondays and Fridays, 12;45pm to 2:00 pm and the lab will be taught on Fridays 2:15 pm to 4:00 pm. Additional time commitments will include training, course preparation, grading, and student communications.
- Topics covering Mechanics include motion, force, work, equilibrium, kinetics, and waves. Biological context and examples will be provided for each physics concept. The principles of motion will be explored through laboratory experiments and demonstrations relating physics to everyday life. This course relies on algebraic and trigonometric concepts
- Design and deliver instructional activities that align with and support course outcomes.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through class participation, assignments, papers, and exams.
- Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines
Qualifications
- A minimum of a master's degree in Physics or a related field is required.
- Previous experience in teaching college-level Science is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent software
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with WebAssign is desirable.
- Experience with Canvas is preferred.
- This position requires in-person teaching
