Job description

Grading Foreman

As a skilled Grading Foreman for Huntzberry Brothers, Inc., you should be knowledgeable and experienced at heavy civil grading, have strong leadership skills, and be able to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. The Foreman will be the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project with the awareness of material expenses, permits, and employee safety. Safety is our #1 priority! (EOE)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery and personnel
  • Monitor and manage project production
  • Enter information daily into B2W Track Software
  • Report project status to supervisors, site engineers and officials regularly
  • Mentor, train and monitor the attendance of crew
  • Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all times
  • Emphasize the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment including training on safety gear
  • Keep inside and outside of your vehicle clean at all times
  • Make sure your crew is keeping the interior and exterior of the equipment cleaned out daily
  • Attend safety and training classes/courses as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3 + year(s) of verifiable heavy civil grading foreman experience
  • High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others
  • SHA Temporary Traffic Control Manager Certification
  • MDE Responsible Person Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
