Job description

Responsibilities
  • Support planning, design, and construction of site development, municipal, and aviation infrastructure projects throughout the Southeast
  • Prepare conceptual site layouts and support project planning and feasibility activities
  • Develop and independently produce civil construction plans using Autodesk Civil 3D, including alignments, profiles, corridors, surfaces, grading, pipe networks, and plan/profile sheets
  • Perform grading, drainage, stormwater, utility, pavement, and site geometry design
  • Prepare permitting packages, quantity takeoffs, preliminary and detailed cost estimates, technical specifications, and supporting engineering documentation
  • Support preparation of contract documents, bid packages, addenda, and construction-phase design revisions
  • Apply client standards, local criteria, FDOT requirements, municipal codes, and other regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, subconsultants, clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors
  • Perform quality-control checks of drawings and design deliverables and help maintain CAD/Civil 3D standards
  • Assist with construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, field observations, and record drawings
  • Provide technical guidance and Civil 3D support to junior designers and engineering staff
  • Report to and work from the St. Augustine, Florida office
  • Report to the team and contribute to project delivery from initial concept through construction closeout
Requirements
  • 5+ years of progressive civil design experience; 6–10 years described as ideal
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated experience producing complete civil construction plan sets
  • Strong working knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, pavement, earthwork, and site development design
  • Experience with airport/airfield, municipal, transportation, or public infrastructure projects preferred
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple design assignments, meet deadlines, and communicate design issues proactively
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • EIT certification preferred where applicable
  • PE licensure is a plus but not required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to report to the St. Augustine, FL office
