Job Summary:
The teacher will instruct middle school students in Science as part of an interdisciplinary instructional team. The teacher will cooperatively work with other classroom teachers, special services team, and complementary subject area teachers. The teacher will be responsible for effectively teaching the curriculum to meet individual needs of students, evaluating student progress, and communicating progress to parents.
Qualifications:
  • Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator Licensure with Middle Grades Science endorsement, required
    • K-5 classroom and 6-8 content area teachers are required to maintain an ESL endorsement, or obtain it within their first two years in the district and prior to earning tenure
  • Solution-focused approach to supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of all children
  • Experience working within an elementary school setting and a diverse (culturally, racially, ethnically, linguistically etc.) student population
  • Fluency in a second language, preferred
