Job description

Barrington Orthopedic Specialists was established in 1980 with a philosophy of treating patients as you would want to be treated. The practice has remained as the premier orthopedic provider of the northwest Chicago suburbs, providing compassionate, individualized care for patients' bones, joints, and muscle injuries and conditions.
Barrington Orthopedics Specialists is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant or Athletic Trainer assisting in clinic with patient evaluation and documentation. This individual will be assigned to a Physician in clinic.
Job duties will include, but are not limited to, assisting Physician with:
  • Procedures (casting, splinting, DME application, cortisone injections, wound care, suture removal, orthotic fittings, ingrown toenails, performing vitals)
  • Messaging
  • Phone calls to patients and required documentation
  • Processing medical refills
  • Work/gym notes, any other related paperwork as needed
  • Process forms: insurance, disability, FMLA, work statuses/restrictions

This individual will see patients in clinic, H/P general overview of reason for visit and verifying all information completed thus far is accurate.
**New grad Athletic Trainers are welcome!!**
Schedule:
Full-Time: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (depending on physician schedule)
Travel to all four locations required: Schaumburg, Elk Grove Village, Bartlett, Buffalo Grove
Physician Schedule:
Monday: Elk Grove Village 8:00am - 12:00pm
Tuesday: Schaumburg 8:00am - 5:00pm
Wednesday: Schaumburg 8:00am - 5:00pm
Thursday: Surgery
Friday: Buffalo Grove 8:00am - 12:00pm
Salary range is dependent on role:
Medical Assistant: $45,000 - $55,000
Athletic Trainer: $55,000 - $68,000

Requirements:
Must be able to multitask and be willing to learn new tasks. This position is very hands on, and we will take the time to train you in all areas needed!
  • Experienced Medical Assistant required OR Certified Athletic Trainer (new grads welcome!)
  • One year of Orthopedic experience OR one year working in a clinical setting preferred
  • Previous Experience with casting, splinting and DME preferred
  • Athena EMR System - A PLUS
