Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.

Summary:

Evaluates and treats patient populations for speech and language pathology needs.

Responsibilities:

Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to issues identified, required frequency of treatments, and involves the patient/family.Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support resources.Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.Supervises and mentors activities of peers, fellows and other support personnel.Collaborates with referring physician and communicates any changes in plan of care.
