AFTER MASTERING THE GAS STATION AND CONVENIENCE STORE BUSINESS IN TEXAS AND PERFECTING THEIR FAMOUS BBQ, OUR FOUNDERS MOVED TO LAKE CHARLES TO BRING THEIR SPECIAL SAUCE TO SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA AND BEYOND.

What We Are Looking For: Food Service Associate (Lake Charles, Sulphur, Westlake, Moss Bluff, Gillis, Lacassine, Duson, Lafayette, Scott, Broussard, Carencro)

Our growing company is looking for dynamic Kitchen Workers. A Kitchen Worker plans, prepares, and cooks all Grab-N-Geaux food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for guests. They help keep the kitchen organized and running efficiently. They ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and following food storage procedures. A Kitchen Worker follows recipes consistently, adjust based on customer requests, communicate with staff and control the quality of all food items. You will be responsible for serving each guest courteously, quickly and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant and enthusiastic attitude.

Responsibilities of a Food Service Associate:

  • Welcome all guests with “Welcome to Grab-N-Geaux”
  • Learn preparation for all menu items in accordance with Grab-N-Geaux quality standards
  • Assists guests with orders by answering menu and recipe related questions
  • Cleans/sanitizes work area, wash carts, cleans pots, and pans, and cleans cooking equipment throughout the shift and at the end of the shift
  • Prepares food as directed by daily spread sheet
  • Maintains a clean as you go work environment
  • Work as a team to meet store goals
  • Maintains food levels in hot box according to guest flow
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with the Health Department guidelines
  • Execute opening and closing procedures
  • Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment
  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients throughout the shift
  • Accommodate guests as your priority
  • Record food waste on daily waste log
  • All employees may be required to perform duties outside their normal responsibilities as needed

Qualifications of a Food Service Associate:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
  • Previous food handling experience preferred
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred
  • Basic math and counting skills required (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
  • Demonstrate communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, of up to 30-40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evening, weekends, or holidays
  • Complete the Louisiana Vendor Permit Card (Bar Card) before start date
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the store’s location

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10-$11
