Job Summary:

The Modeling Technician plays a key role in transforming field-captured data, including point clouds from laser scanning, into accurate and high-quality digital models for our clients. This position is responsible for producing 3D models from scans provided by GPRS Project Managers, performing detailed QA/QC of internal and vendor-created models, and supporting project delivery through technical collaboration and documentation. The ideal candidate will combine strong modeling skills with a keen eye for detail and a proactive, team-oriented mindset to ensure consistent, client-ready deliverables.

Job Goals:

  • Transform field data into accurate 3D models: Convert GPRS Project Manager scan data into high-quality, detailed 3D BIM models that reflect real-world conditions and support effective client decision-making.
  • Ensure model accuracy and quality: Conduct thorough QA/QC reviews of internal and vendor-created models to ensure deliverables meet GPRS standards for precision, clarity, and usability.
  • Support project delivery through technical collaboration:Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery, proper documentation, and alignment with client specifications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create accurate and detailed 3D BIM models using data collected by GPRS Project Managers.
  • Review internal and third-party models and drawings to ensure they meet GPRS quality standards and project requirements before final delivery.
  • Utilize industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and related tools to generate models, drawings, and client-ready documentation.
  • Manage multiple data formats to support accurate modeling and analysis.
  • Communicate regularly with Field Project Managers and other team members to clarify scan details, resolve discrepancies, and align expectations.
  • Provide technical support and model clarification to clients during and after project delivery when needed.
  • Associate's degree, certification, or equivalent training in CAD/BIM, Architecture, Engineering, or a related technical field, preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with 3D modeling or drafting, preferably in an architectural, engineering, or construction setting.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Autodesk Revit; AutoCAD, or other relevant software a plus
  • Experience conducting QA/QC on BIM or CAD deliverables
  • Ability to interpret and work from scan data, point clouds, and construction documentation
  • Experience with building systems (HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical) is preferred
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality assurance
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
