Job description

Title: Dance Instructor
Time Status: Part Time
Reports to: Director of GPAC
Summary:
The Dance Instructor for Grace Performing Arts Center (GPAC) will provide high-quality dance instruction while fostering a Christ-centered and engaging learning environment for students. This position includes leading Creative Movement classes for 2-to 3-year-olds and demonstrating foundational elements of Tap, Jazz, and Ballet as needed in other classes offered through GPAC.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach Creative Movement classes for 2-3-year-olds in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Demonstrate and assist with foundational techniques in Tap, Jazz, and Ballet.
Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that promote coordination, rhythm, creativity, and foundational dance skills.
Prepare students for recitals, showcases, and performances.
Foster a positive, Christ-centered learning environment that encourages both artistic growth and character development.
Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents.
Collaborate with the Director of GPAC and follow all policies to enhance GPACs programs and offerings.
Participate in recitals, showcases, meetings, and other events as needed.
Qualifications:
Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and demonstrate a lifestyle of biblical integrity.
Must be a regular attender of a church of like faith and committed to the core values of Grace Baptist Church.
Prior dance teaching experience required (experience with preschool-aged children preferred).
Training or experience in Creative Movement, Tap, Jazz, and Ballet.
Ability to work effectively with young children as well as students of varying ages and skill levels.
Positive attitude at all times and poise under pressure.
High attention to detail and accuracy with complete follow-through.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Excellent organizational and classroom management skills.
