SEARCH MANDATE:

Our private equity client is seeking the right Chief Technology Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, a B2B GovTech business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis in this newly acquired platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods.

COMPENSATION:

A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity.

THE COMPANY:
  • Business Model: B2B Multi-Product SaaS
  • End Market: Public Sector Agencies
  • Hold Period: Exit planned for 2031
  • Deal Structure: Control buyout
INVESTMENT THESIS:

Transform the business and drive scale within 4-5 years.

  • Be responsible for defining and executing the company's overall technology strategy while leading engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, cybersecurity, and technical governance functions.
  • Work closely with Product and establish the process, governance, and operating cadence required to scale a high-growth PE backed software business.
  • Prepare the organization for M&A activity, while also playing a critical role in advancing the company’s security and compliance initiatives.
  • Leverage AI within software development lifecycle.

Its sector specialties include business services, consumer brands, education and training, franchisors, healthcare, software and information technology, and manufacturing sectors. Today the sponsor owns 142 portfolio companies and has $13.5B in cumulative capital commitments.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes:

  • Business Model: B2B Multi-Product SaaS
  • Functional: Top technology leader of a $1mm-$10mm B2B Multi-Product SaaS company OR number two technology leader within a larger enterprise responsible for $50mm-$150mm in revenue
  • Orientation: Strong business orientation is required, with technical experience across architecture, engineering leadership, and strategy.
  • Private Equity: Highly preferred
  • M&A: Solid integration experience required
  • Tenure: 15+ years of progressive career success
