Job description

LIFEGUARD - Summer Season
1+ years Experience Required
Your mission is to create a welcoming and safe environment so that customers enjoy their time in the aquatics amenities!
  • This location is on Governors Island and requires a free ferry ride to and from the job site (ferry from Brooklyn or Manhattan)
  • Smoking/vaping is not permitted at any location on Governors Island
  • Shift: Sun - Thur 9:45am - 10pm. Fri amp; Sat 9:45 - 11pm (board the 2:30/3:15pm ferry)
  • $18 per hour
WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Welcome guests who come to use the pools and related amenities
  • Supervise the pool and pool area at all times
  • Take action to ensure pool rules are enforced
  • Maintain cleanliness of pools and pool decks
  • Stay alert and focused while on shift
  • Ensure guests feel welcomed, safe, and relaxed at the aquatics amenities
REQUIRED
  • Lifeguard Certification, unexpired
  • CPR / First Aid / AED certification, received within the 12 months
  • Must have minimum one (1) year experience as a Lifeguard
