About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and energetic individual to join our team in the field of Customs Brokerage.

A Customs Broker acts as a critical liaison between importers, U.S. Customs, partner government agencies, and internal/external stakeholders. This role ensures the smooth movement of goods across borders by managing customs clearance processes, duties, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process entry summaries and release shipments entering the U.S. via truck, rail, air, vessel, and pipeline
  • Submit required documentation to Partner Government Agencies (PGAs), such as FDA, EPA, USDA, and NHTSA
  • Complete AES (Automated Export System) export filings
  • Monitor and manage incoming emails and faxes to ensure timely clearance processing
  • Handle in-bond transactions, including:
    • IT (Immediate Transportation)
    • T&E (Transportation & Exportation)
    • IE (Immediate Exportation)
  • Coordinate arrival and export processing upon notification from bond holders
  • Provide customer support to clients, carriers, and vendors (internal and external)
  • Answer phone inquiries and maintain professional communication
  • Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and PGA requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Customs Broker License and/or CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) certification is an asset (not required)
  • Previous experience in customs brokerage or logistics is preferred
  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Strong customer service and data entry skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Working knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and U.S. Customs regulations
