Summary:

Goldbelt Apex is seeking an experienced Statistician to support the Defense Health Agency's Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE). This position provides advanced statistical expertise supporting behavioral health research, surveillance, health services research, implementation science, and program evaluation initiatives across the Military Health System.

The successful candidate will develop statistical methodologies, support study design, analyze complex healthcare and behavioral health datasets, and ensure the scientific integrity of research and surveillance products. This role works collaboratively with researchers, epidemiologists, implementation scientists, data analysts, clinicians, and Government stakeholders to generate reliable evidence supporting psychological health programs and military readiness.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide advanced statistical expertise supporting behavioral health research, surveillance, and program evaluation initiatives.
  • Develop statistical analysis plans for research studies, surveillance activities, and program evaluations.
  • Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses using large and complex healthcare datasets.
  • Design and evaluate research methodologies to ensure scientific validity and methodological rigor.
  • Support survey design, sampling methodologies, weighting strategies, and statistical analysis of survey data.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams to identify appropriate statistical methods and analytical approaches.
  • Conduct multivariate analyses, regression modeling, longitudinal analyses, predictive modeling, and other advanced statistical techniques as appropriate.
  • Validate analytical findings and ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and scientific integrity of statistical products.
  • Interpret statistical findings and communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop technical reports, statistical summaries, scientific manuscripts, executive briefings, and presentations.
  • Support quality assurance activities related to statistical analyses and research methodology.
  • Assist in the development of performance measures, surveillance indicators, and evaluation metrics.
  • Provide statistical consultation to Government leadership and project teams regarding study design, data interpretation, and analytical best practices.
  • Ensure all statistical analyses comply with accepted scientific standards and contract requirements.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare and behavioral health data analysis.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple data sources.
  • Proficiency with statistical software such as SAS, R, SQL, Python, SPSS, or comparable analytical tools.
  • Knowledge of data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar business intelligence software.
  • Understanding of healthcare surveillance methodologies and performance measurement.
  • Knowledge of data governance, quality assurance, and validation techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary scientific and healthcare teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • Meet all education and experience requirements identified in the solicitation for the Statistician labor category.
  • Demonstrated experience applying advanced statistical methodologies in healthcare, behavioral health, public health, or scientific research environments.
  • Experience supporting research studies, surveillance activities, or program evaluations through statistical consultation.
  • Experience developing statistical analysis plans and conducting advanced quantitative analyses.
  • Experience supporting survey research, population health studies, or health services research.
  • Experience preparing statistical reports, scientific publications, technical briefings, and research documentation.
  • Experience collaborating with researchers, clinicians, epidemiologists, implementation scientists, and Government stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation and Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Occasional travel may be required in support of contract performance.

  • Experience supporting clinical trials, observational studies, or implementation science initiatives.
  • Experience developing survey methodologies and analyzing complex survey data.
  • Experience publishing peer-reviewed scientific research.
  • Knowledge of federal healthcare research and Military Health System data sources.
  • Experience presenting statistical findings to senior leadership and scientific audiences.

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $145,000 to $165,000. This is a proposal-contingent position. The salary range provided represents the anticipated compensation for this role; however, final compensation will be based on the successful contract award and the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
