Full Stack Software Engineer (Java/AWS/React)

Location: Remote (U.S.) / Travel to MD for Client/Internal Meetings few times a year
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $120,000-$140,000 annually, commensurate with experience (Negotiable to an Extent - possibility of 1099)

Position Overview

Global Alliant, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Full Stack Software Engineer to support a mission-critical application modernization program for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This position will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable cloud-native applications supporting federal immigration systems while working within a collaborative Agile DevSecOps environment.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in full-stack software development using Java, Spring Boot, React, AWS cloud technologies, containerization, CI/CD automation, and modern software engineering best practices.


Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on full-stack software engineering in DevSecOps environments.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing front-end and back-end enterprise applications and/or data services.
Experience developing enterprise-scale applications within AWS cloud environments.
Strong proficiency with:
Java / JEE
Spring Boot / Spring Framework
JavaScript
TypeScript
React
JSON and RESTful APIs
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as:

Experience working with:

Build secure and scalable RESTful APIs and backend services using Java, JEE, and Spring Boot.
Develop applications utilizing AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support automated software delivery.
Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Participate in code reviews and promote secure coding standards and DevSecOps best practices.
Create and execute automated unit, integration, functional, and performance tests.
Collaborate with architects, DevSecOps engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders throughout the Agile software development lifecycle.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement scalable, reliable solutions.
Prepare technical documentation and participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.


Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
