Medical Laboratory Technician - Job Description Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician
Department: Laboratory / Diagnostics
Reports To: Laboratory Manager / Pathologist Key Responsibilities: Collect, receive, label, and process patient specimens.Perform routine laboratory tests on blood, urine, stool, and other specimens.Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.Prepare reagents, slides, and samples as required.Follow standard laboratory procedures and quality-control protocols.Record, verify, and report test results accurately.Maintain proper documentation and patient records.Follow infection-control, biosafety, and waste-disposal procedures.Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals when required.Ensure laboratory supplies and reagents are adequately maintained. Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT or equivalent).Relevant professional registration/certification, where applicable.Knowledge of laboratory safety and quality-control procedures. Key Skills: Good knowledge of laboratory techniquesAttention to detail and accuracySpecimen handling skillsEquipment operation and troubleshootingComputer and documentation skillsTeamwork and communicationStrong commitment to hygiene and safety Experience:
