Job description

Summary

Creates and modifies basic designs of electrical systems under general guidance while exercising independent judgment in design decisions.  Systems include but are not limited to cabin management & in-flight entertainment systems, communication systems, cabin lighting systems, AC/DC power systems, security systems, water, oxygen, and air conditioning control and indication systems, galley and lavatory systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in the electrical system architecture development and definition for VIP/VVIP aircraft.
  • Drafts electrical schematics, wire diagrams and wire kits supporting the interior electrical systems.
  • Assists with developing substantiating data such as electrical load analysis, transverse vertical separation analysis, and configuration documentation.
  • Develops verification and test procedures to comply with the latest FAA design requirements.
  • Supports installation of systems via liaison with modification facility, identifies root cause issues, captures redline updates, resolves design issues and updates drawings to meet schedule.
  • Maintains close coordination with aircraft lead and project engineers to comply with schedule and budget of projects.
  • Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

Bachelor's degree (B.S) in engineering, minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Aviation background and interior aircraft electrical experience preferred.

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of electrical systems and power management.
  • Understanding of electrical design process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Visio.
  • Ability to read and understand wire diagrams and functional schematics.
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally across multiple organizations.
  • Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $78,000.00 - $93,000.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
