Overview
Joint Strategic Technologies (JST) is seeking a mid-level Contracts Data Analyst to support data organization, dashboard creation, and platform management for Department of State (DOS) contracting operations. Working directly under the direction of the JST Program Management Lead, this individual will structure incoming contracting data, build interactive visualization tools, and optimize data workflows across Power BI, SharePoint, and Smartsheet.The ideal candidate possesses strong hands-on technical capabilities in data management and reporting, coupled with a solid foundational understanding of federal acquisition processes.
This is a full-time position in Washington, D.C. JST offers a full benefit package, a collaborative work environment and strong company culture. Veterans and military spouses are encouraged to apply.
Contract Data Analyst Responsibilities
  • Dashboard & Visualization Development: Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, Smartsheet trackers, and customized visual reports to provide actionable metrics for leadership and the PM Lead.
  • Data Architecture & Organization: Collaborate with the JST PM Lead to identify data requirements, structure incoming contracting data, and establish best practices for data taxonomy, storage, and workflow automation.
  • Platform Administration: Configure and maintain SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and Smartsheet workspace solutions to streamline contract tracking and team collaboration.
  • Data Input & Integrity: Input, clean, structure, and validate high volumes of contracting actions and financial data across government and internal systems.
  • Contract Action Tracking: Support tracking of key acquisition steps, milestones, deliverables, and billing lifecycle metrics (e.g., electronic invoicing/Closeout workflow monitoring).
  • Operational Reporting: Produce recurring and ad-hoc analytical reports, summaries, and executive presentations detailing procurement performance metrics.

Contracts Data Analyst Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Data Analytics & Visualization: 3-5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience using Power BI, Smartsheet, and Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling) to organize datasets and build custom dashboards.
  • Platform Experience: Experience configuring, building, and managing SharePoint pages, lists, and document repositories.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation skills, with a proven ability to translate complex datasets into clear business insights for team leads and stakeholders.
  • Detail Orientation: High precision in manual and automated data entry, recordkeeping, and dataset reconciliation.

Contracts Data Analyst Desired Qualifications
  • Federal Acquisition Context: Prior experience supporting federal procurement, contract administration, or a Department of State (DOS) acquisition shop (e.g., familiar with 1102 concepts, contract lifecycle, or federal invoicing flows such as iRAPT, EDA, CDR, or Closeout).
  • Business Intelligence: Experience with automated data workflows (e.g., Power Automate) or connecting disparate data sources into central BI repositories.

Required Clearances and Screenings
  • MUST have an active secret clearance
  • MUST be able to pass a US Government Security Clearance
