Job description

Associate Product Manager
Overview
First Resonance is seeking an Associate Product Manager to help build innovative software solutions. This role is designed for a professional who is ready to grow their career in product management and is passionate about customer experience and product adoption.
As an Associate PM, your primary focus will be interacting directly with new customers to ensure a strong onboarding experience and seamless product adoption. You will translate customer needs into functional requirements, and work daily with engineers to ship high-quality features. You will join a high-impact team where you will be mentored by senior leaders while taking direct ownership of specific product modules that shape the first-time user experience.
Responsibilities & Duties
As an Associate Product Manager, your primary goal is to contribute to the design and delivery of product experiences that help new customers realize the value of our platform quickly. You will manage the lifecycle of specific features, from initial discovery through to launch and optimization.
  • Customer Onboarding & Advocacy: Interact directly with new customers to ensure strong onboarding and early success. Support user research sessions and customer interviews, translating user feedback into product improvements to ensure features meet customer needs.
  • Feature Execution & Delivery: Take ownership of defined product areas related to user onboarding, ensuring the backlog is prioritized and that the engineering team has clear, actionable user stories and requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Work with senior product leaders to break down customer adoption barriers into manageable product tasks and functional solutions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for Engineering and Design on your assigned features. Collaborate directly with Customer Success and Sales to ensure a smooth transition for new customers and that new releases are easily understood.
  • Data-Informed Contributions: Use data and user feedback to track the success of launched features and suggest iterative improvements based on actual usage patterns.
  • Product Rituals: Participate in and help facilitate agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in product management, product engineering, solutions engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Deep empathy for users and a strong desire to interact directly with new customers to understand their goals, challenges, and workflows during the onboarding phase.
  • Strong Execution Skills: Proven ability to manage tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to use data to understand problems and a willingness to learn advanced product analytics tools to monitor user activation.
  • Familiarity with Modern Tools: Proficiency in (or a strong desire to learn) leveraging AI tools for drafting specifications, organizing feedback, and streamlining the product development process.
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members and confidently lead customer-facing meetings.
  • Growth Mindset: A proactive approach to learning the discipline of Product Management and building great software.

Desired Qualifications
  • Foundational experience working within an Agile/Scrum framework.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role
  • Basic understanding of how web applications work (e.g., an interest in how APIs, JSON, or data flow works between systems).
  • Passion for technology and a desire to improve the lives of the people using complex software tools.
  • Strongly Desired: Experience working on the manufacturing floor. Experience as a manufacturing engineer is highly desired.

Benefits & Perks
  • Health Insurance; medical, vision, dental, & life insurance.
  • Paid Parental Leave.
  • Employee Stock Option Plan.
  • Team outings, group lunches, open office, happy hours.
  • Paid holidays, sick days.
  • Flexible Friday and PTO.
  • 401K.
