EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION (E&E) CLAIM Examination Title: Correction Officer II Examination Date: August 15, 2026 Deadline for Online E&E Claim Submission: August 22, 2026, at 11:59 pm This is the online Experience & Education (E&E) Claim for the Correction Officer II Departmental Promotional Examination scheduled for August 15, 2026. Only eligible candidates who have submitted a written application and payment to participate in the Correction Officer II departmental promotional examination scheduled for August 15, 2026, must submit this online claim to receive E&E credit. There is no additional fee.

E&E Examination Weights: E&E is made up of two categories and weighted as Experience 75% and Education 25%. General Instructions: The E&E examination component asks a series of questions about a candidate's employment, supervisory experience, and education. For complete instructions and examples of how to fill out the online E&E Claim, refer to the 2026 Correction Officer II E&E Examination Guide, available on the Human Resources Division (HRD) Civil Service website Examination Guides & Reading Lists page.

Preparing & Saving Your Claim: Candidates may log in to complete and submit their online E&E Claim through the statutory deadline of August 22, 2026. Before submitting, please carefully review your claim to ensure all information is complete and accurate. No new claims will be accepted after the deadline.

After submitting your claim, you may log in to your online account at any time to download or print a copy for your records. Once submitted, your E&E Claim cannot be edited online. If you need to make changes after submitting your claim, you must email a written request to civilservice@mass.gov no later than the statutory deadline of August 22, 2026

Your request will be added to your record for this examination component. If you encounter any technical problems, email civilservice@mass.gov before the deadline date. Supporting Documentation: HRD requires the submission of supporting documentation for all claims submitted in your online E&E Claim

Please refer to the 2026 Correction Officer II E&E Examination Guide for all required documents. Attach electronic copies of your supporting documentation (such as official college transcripts, employment verification forms, etc.) to the online E&E Claim or email to civilservice@mass.gov by 11:59pm, August 22, 2026. No new type of credit can be claimed after the submission deadline. Claim Audits: After submission of your E&E claim AND during the life of the resulting eligible list, HRD reserves the right to conduct an audit of your E&E claim. Be prepared to provide copies of all supporting documentation submitted as part of this examination component to HRD or the appointing authority upon request.

Note: An explanatory reference guide with point allocations will be made available when exam scores are released.
