Job Summary:
Google is a leading technology company, and they are seeking a Software Engineer III for their Mobile XR team. The role involves developing applications for AR glasses, focusing on real-time speech translation and enhancing user experiences through innovative mobile technologies.
Responsibilities:
• Adapt, build, and launch first-party apps/experiences for Android/iOS phones paired with next-generation wearables using familiar Android/iOS development tools.
• Leverage Generative AI tools to accelerate the end-to-end engineering lifecycle, including rapid prototyping, automated test generation, and code optimization for wearable experiences.
• Ensure XR support feels native and idiomatic to the platform, leveraging modern mobile development practices (e.g., MVVM) and the best of the Glasses SDK.
• Work closely with UX and PM to define, prototype, and test experiences to discover what experiences users value the most and how to improve the experiences to provide more value to users.
• Collaborate with other Google teams (Google Translate, etc.) to build features that leverage the best of Google products and services.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience programming in the Kotlin programming language.
• 1 year of experience in Android development.
Preferred:
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
• 2 years of experience developing Android or iOS applications, programming in Java or Swift/Objective-C.
