Position Summary

The SEO and Paid Search Specialist is responsible for executing digital marketing strategies across search and paid media channels to meet client KPIs. Working within a defined strategy provided by the Client Services and Strategy teams, this role focuses on implementing best practices in SEO, PPC, and analytics to improve visibility, engagement, and conversions.


The ideal candidate combines analytical precision with hands-on technical skills in Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and SEO platforms. This individual is proactive in optimizing performance, detail-oriented in tracking results, and committed to continuous learning in an ever-evolving digital landscape.


*This is an on-site job in Owings Mills, Maryland


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • Execute on-site, technical, and off-site SEO initiatives as defined in client strategies.
  • Conduct keyword research and apply insights to optimize content, metadata, and internal linking.
  • Perform technical SEO audits and implement recommendations (crawl errors, indexation, Core Web Vitals, schema, etc.).
  • Monitor and report SEO performance through Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and third-party tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Screaming Frog.
  • Manage local SEO, including Google Business Profile optimization and citation consistency.
  • Stay up to date on search algorithm changes and apply current SEO best practices.

Pay-Per-Click (PPC) & Paid Media

  • Build, manage, and optimize paid search campaigns in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads based on approved strategies.
  • Conduct keyword research, audience targeting, and ad copy optimization to improve CTR and conversion rates.
  • Adjust bids, budgets, and targeting settings to meet performance goals (CPL, CPA, ROAS).
  • Set up conversion tracking and ensure accurate attribution in Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
  • Monitor performance and generate reports with actionable insights and improvement recommendations.
  • Test new ad formats, responsive search ads, and performance max campaigns for continual optimization.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Measure and report on campaign KPIs, including traffic, conversions, and ROI.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and performance issues across SEO and PPC efforts.
  • Provide clear, data-backed updates to the Client Services team for client reporting.
  • Collaborate on tracking and attribution models to ensure marketing activities are accurately measured.

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with the Client Services Director, strategy team, and creative/development teams to ensure smooth campaign execution.
  • Implement recommendations for landing page improvements and conversion optimization.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders to align deliverables, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement within campaigns and workflows.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience managing SEO and PPC campaigns, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Proficient with:
    • Google Ads, Microsoft Ads
    • Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console
    • SEO tools: SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or similar
    • CMS platforms such as WordPress
    • Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting
  • Demonstrated experience meeting or exceeding KPI goals for multiple clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal reporting and documentation.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with paid social advertising (LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads Manager).
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for on-page SEO implementation.
  • Familiarity with call tracking and CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce).
  • Google Ads and Google Analytics certifications are a plus.
