ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client, Brooksource, is seeking a talented and motivated mid-level DevOps Engineer for a hybrid contract-to-hire role based in Tampa, FL. This position requires approximately 5 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure DevOps (ADO). You will work closely with software engineering, architecture, and development teams to streamline development workflows, improve deployment automation, and enhance platform reliability and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, and will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Implement and manage cloud infrastructure, primarily in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Support and optimize multi-cloud environments, including GCP and other platforms as required
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
  • Manage source control, branching strategies, build processes, and release pipelines (including Git-based systems and Git Actions)
  • Collaborate with development, architecture, and software engineering teams to improve deployment efficiency and application reliability
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement preventive solutions using logging and monitoring tools
  • Implement security best practices throughout the DevOps lifecycle, including cloud networking, security, and identity management
  • Support containerized applications and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS)
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives around deployment automation, monitoring, and operational excellence
  • Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks
  • Participate in on-call support rotations as needed
  • Contribute to incident management, performance tuning, and production support
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (required)
  • Experience designing and maintaining Azure DevOps (ADO) CI/CD pipelines (preferred)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Boards, Repos, Pipelines, and work item management
  • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  • Experience with Git-based source control systems, branching strategies, and release management
  • Experience supporting Linux-based environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams
  • Experience working in multi-cloud environments (preferred)
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container technologies such as Docker, ECS/EKS (preferred)
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools, incident management, and performance tuning (preferred)
  • Familiarity with cloud networking, security, and identity management (preferred)
  • Experience with automated testing and deployment strategies (preferred)
  • Experience designing new CI/CD pipelines is a plus
  • Relevant cloud or DevOps certifications are beneficial but not required
  • Strong ownership mindset and accountability
