Job description

Position Title:Rehabilitation Technician
FLSA Status:Non-Exempt

Department: Therapy
Reports To: Therapy Leadership

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Rehabilitation Technician (Rehab Tech), you will help to ensure that REHAB patients and their families receive caring and dedicated service at REHAB. You will be the support for our Therapy Department and other departments while assisting with a variety of services. These services include performing patient activities such as obtaining vital signs and weights, scheduling, prepares areas and assists therapist, assembling distributing, cleans and maintains equipment for both inpatient and outpatient therapy needs as directed by Therapy Leadership, in accordance with established policies and procedures of the hospital with a commitment to delivering high-quality, comprehensive and innovative inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.

Wage Range: $17.78/hr to $26.67/hr.

The actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position. The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification/Licensure:

  • Current BLS certification

  • Completion of competencies and other job-related and REHAB requirements.

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

Skills/Experience:

  • One (1) year of applicable work experience in nursing or allied health such as in OT, PT, Speech, Kinesiology, Personal Training, Medical Assistant, etc; or completion of at least one (1) year of clinical rotations/affiliations in a nursing or allied health program or personal trainer certification program; or completion of two (2) years of college, majoring in health services, rehabilitation services or related field.

  • Must satisfactorily complete REHAB's on-the-job training program.

  • Ability to safely and effectively manage patients' mobility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification/Licensure:

  • Valid State of Hawaii Driver's License

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Upon admission assesses patients in the areas of mobility, activities of daily living (ADL), and speech therapy.
  • Obtains information such as vital signs and weights during the admission process.

  • Assists with gathering and transporting patients for scheduled therapy, as well as gathering equipment and supplies to and from various areas.

  • Assists with supervising patients for meals as needed.

  • Assists therapist with group therapy community outings and assists with patient transport as needed.

  • Assembles and disassembles equipment, and prepares areas for treatment as directed by the therapist.

  • Assists with therapy equipment distribution, cleaning, and maintenance.

  • Assists therapy with scheduling of patients as needed.

  • Assists with general office procedures as needed.

  • Uses sound judgment and ensures patient safety.

  • Follows and adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and guidelines, code of conduct, and REHAB employee handbook.

  • Performs other duties as assigned
