RECEPTIONIST: PART-TIME POSITION
Date: August 26, 2026
Position: Receptionist
Location: Early Childhood @ Old Village School (satellite)
405 W. Main Street, Northville, MI 48167
Hours: Monday through Friday
3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Benefits: Paid sick time
Hourly Rate: Starting $15.60/hour
Start Date: Upon hire and clearance
Receptionist Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Basic technology skills with demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft applications and Google Suite.Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education
  • Knowledge of computer applications and ability to work with databases.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities reflected below are not inclusive and may change to meet the emerging needs of the program, Early Childhood Department and the District.
  1. Receiving visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately.
  2. Answering screening and forwarding incoming phone calls.
  3. Screen visitors and direct visitors to the appropriate person and office.
  4. Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
  5. Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges).

Requirements:
  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  2. Hands-on experience with office equipment
  3. Professional attitude and appearance.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  6. Excellent organizational skills.
  7. Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  8. Customer service attitude.

This position is part of the Early Childhood Education and Extended Day Programs Department within Northville Public Schools.
