  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.
  • Experience with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment (e.g., installation, commissioning and network troubleshooting).
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines; layer 1 infrastructures, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.
  • Understanding of optical design trade offs and awareness of TL1/CLI automation.
  • Proficiency in NPI and writing test plan documents in lab or staging environment.
  • Proficient in creating long-haul optical designs using vendor design tools, applying technical judgement to a given optical design, translating to bits on the wire.
  • Ability to identify repetitive work and propose automation for small workflows.

The Network Team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. Our team owns the full life cycle of all space, power, and network assets in all of Google’s data centers and metro points of presence globally. From the foundation, we are involved from site acquisition to construction and are accountable for what space and power is delivered. We're involved in every facet of network delivery from architecture and design to installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning.
