• Strong understanding of client-side system architecture on mobile platforms (Android or iOS).
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting mobile applications.
• Demonstrated ability to reduce system complexity and invent novel architectural patterns for open-ended, ambiguous issues.

As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

• Own the strategy, scoping, and navigation of complex compliance initiatives across a large work group with long time horizons.
• Clarify, make tractable, and solve large, ambiguous technical problems, reducing architectural chaos and delivering scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Partner with Legal, product managers, security, and other engineering teams to align competing priorities and drive organizational consensus in the best interest of Google and its users.
• Identify future compliance requirements or privacy risks, designing preventive architectural safeguards into the foundational layers of GMM.
• Elevate engineering standards, influence designs beyond the GMM Client Infrastructure team, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
