Outstanding contract opportunity! A well-known Financial Services Company is looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer in Charlotte, NC (hybrid 3 days on-site).
We are seeking a skilled Google Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), Kubernetes (GKE), Docker Swarm, and Linux administration. You will play a crucial role in architecting, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring automation, scalability, and reliability for mission-critical services.
Contract Duration: 12+ Months
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform, GKE (Kubernetes), Docker Swarm, and Linux administration.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Solid understanding of container orchestration, networking, and security.

Desired Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Scripting and automation with Python and REST APIs.
  • Experience with OpenShift (OCS).
  • Administration experience with PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch databases.
  • Advanced skills with Terraform and Ansible for IaC.
  • Experience in Python development and RESTful API integration.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Google Cloud Platform, GKE (Kubernetes), and Docker Swarm.
  • Configure, secure, and maintain Linux-based systems and servers across multiple environments.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar tools for automated builds, testing, and deployment.
  • Design and automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management, preferably using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Develop, maintain, and integrate Python scripts and REST APIs for automation and system interaction.
  • Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of databases such as PostgreSQL and Elastic.
  • Document infrastructure processes, architecture, and best practices.
